• Director - Corporate Finance

  • The Director – Corporate Finance will join the 25+ member Corporate Finance team of EQ Office. The Corporate Finance department is primarily responsible for property and portfolio level forecasting and general financial analysis; maintenance of Argus files; modeling, due diligence, marketing and closings of dispositions and debt financings; and providing analytical support for market leaders, asset management, and Blackstone.

     

    The Director – Corporate Finance will be responsible primarily for Investment Finance within the Corporate Finance department with leadership contributions in valuation modeling, distribution forecasting and reporting, investment level financial forecasting, workflow scheduling, and will drive department-wide process improvement and re-engineering initiatives. The position requires supervision, mentoring, coaching, and development of two direct and two indirect reports.

    As the Director – Corporate Finance for EQ Office, one is held accountable to, however not limited to, the following responsibilities:

    • Lead department efforts to deliver quarterly valuation model updates for 27+ investments in coordination with Blackstone and other EQ and Revantage departments.
    • Lead the initiative to revamp the design and structure of Now Expected valuation models for analysis of total investment return, leverage strategies, cash flow forecasting, asset sales timing and values, and distribution forecasting. The project will lead to a routine monthly update of all individual managed investment long-term forecast models.
    • Lead the establishment and communication of department workflow processes.
    • Serve as the primary liaison to Revantage Treasury and Investment Reporting teams.
    • Provide exceptional mentoring and employee development.
    • Provide Corporate Finance department with flexible capacity and support in the following key responsibility areas (however not limited to): Board book and/or other senior management presentation preparation; adhoc strategic and financial analysis, as requested by Blackstone, EQ Office senior leadership or market teams.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance
    • 10+ years of commercial real estate experience
    • 5+ years of supervisory experience with 2+ years at a leadership or other advanced level
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to translate complex technical concepts and formulas in easy to understand business terms
    • The ability to work independently, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
    • Highly proficient in advanced excel modeling techniques and thorough knowledge of Argus Enterprise
    • Strong knowledge of real estate fundamentals, valuation concepts, asset management and leasing issues and the ability to research, analyze and draw conclusions and communicate them effectively
    • Demonstrated success through collaboration, creative thinking, and the ability to adapt and quickly learn new concepts
